“I don’t care. You’re hungry.” When Jack from America was cycling through a mountain village in Guangxi, a Chinese grandma welcomed him into her home and made a simple but hearty meal for him. Big smiles. Bigger hearts. Video credited to: 老兔子在中国 Jack Mullinkosson

When Henan watermelons struggle to find buyers, the Millennium City Park steps in — buying them up and sharing them with tourists for free. Thumbs up for this act of kindness that brings relief to everyone in the heat. ❤️

On June 30, FM Wang Yi held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. FM Wang said: — China and the US need to remove disruptions, overcome obstacles, and stay firmly on the right course toward building a constructive bilateral relationship of strategic stability. — Both sides should always uphold the spirit of equality, respect and mutual benefit, and translate the important consensus reached by the two heads of state into specific policies and practical measures. — Both sides need to expand the list of cooperation, shorten the list of problems, and manage all kinds of risks. — The Taiwan question has far-reaching implications. It is hoped that the U.S. side will handle Taiwan-related issues with extra prudence. Both sides agreed that this phone conversation was positive and constructive, and agreed to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to maintain communication through various flexible means.

Today also marks the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. 29 years on, Hong Kong ranks as the world’s 2nd most competitive economy, Asia’s top financial center, and the world’s 3rd-ranked financial center. Wishing our beloved “Pearl of the Orient” an even brighter future! 🇭🇰

#ChinaGovernance President Xi Jinping: “The original aspiration and the mission of Chinese Communists is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.” (中国共产党人的初心和使命,就是为中国人民谋幸福,为中华民族谋复兴。) Today, there are over 101 million party members across China. While our careers may differ, our mission is the same — to serve the people. Happy 105th anniversary to the Communist Party of China! #CPC105

The ancient Chinese cedars of Kuliang have witnessed the friendship between the Chinese and American peoples being passed on from generation to generation, growing ever stronger and more vibrant. The future of China-U.S. relations lies with the youth. It will be shaped by the friendships you build and the steps you take together. I hope young people from China and the U.S. will move forward, hand in hand, in this new era, embrace the future and write new Kuliang stories of our time. I hope you will help China and the U.S. find the right way to get along in the new era, and hit a splendid home run for China-U.S. relations. @HolaFujian

Third, cheer for RUNS. The beauty of sports lies not only in scoring runs yourself, but also in applauding the other side’s great plays, and in learning from one another so that all can improve. Today, China and the U.S. share broad common interests and vast space for cooperation in addressing global challenges. This calls for young people from both countries to step up and contribute. I hope you will keep your feet on the ground and your eyes on the future, and use your knowledge, creativity, and energy to help China and the U.S. work together on shared challenges — from climate change to AI to public health. In doing so, you will add new dimensions to a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability, and contribute to both countries and beyond.

Second, play by the RULES. Rules are what make sports fair. It is only natural that China and the U.S. have competition. But it should be healthy competition that brings out the best in each other, positive competition in which both sides strive to improve, and fair competition that follows the rules. No one should disregard international rules or cross the line, just for the sake of “winning”. I hope your youthful energy and spirit will help show that China and the U.S. can meet on the same field, play by the same rules, and compete with skill, character, and sportsmanship.
