Hi @kayescottboxer. Can you send a DM or now I guess it is called a chat message to my account here. I wanted to discuss something about an interview request I want to make. So, if you get a chance and can reach out that way I would greatly appreciate it.

What a horrifying story.
The actor Charlize Theron grew up with an alcoholic father. When she was 15, he tried to kill her and her mother, shooting through her bedroom door. Her mother shot and killed him in an act that was found to be self-defense. “I think these things should be talked about because it makes other people not feel alone,” Theron says in her interview. As an adult, she has worked to prevent violence against women and girls. On “The Interview,” she talks about her childhood, her early career, her new movie, “Apex,” and more. Read, watch or listen to the full conversation with @charlizeafrica at the link in our bio. Video by The New York Times

This version by Julie makes me thing of the great Vera Lynn who made this song famous, It has great meaning to the folks in the UK.
In 1974, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke reunited for the TV special Julie and Dick at Covent Garden, their first major on-screen collaboration since Mary Poppins. One standout moment: Julie singing “We’ll Meet Again,” a song deeply tied to wartime Britain.

"He was ignored by many in the game to which he gave so much. Out of sight became out of mind for the memories he should have generated. For far too long he was relegated to a position in the collective minds of the nation that didn’t equate to an enduring shelf life and wasn’t worth much. He had integrated the entire American League, but the feeling was: ‘Well, wasn’t Jackie Robinson number one? Didn’t Jackie end the color line?’ And as good a player as Larry Doby was, ‘not being number one’ was and is a typical American slight. In America, number two is just a number." "Larry Doby in Black and White: The Story of a Baseball Pioneer." Jerry Izenberg. "It was eleven weeks between the time Jackie Robinson and I came into the majors. Eleven weeks. Come on. Whatever happened to him happened to me. I had to take it, but I fought back by hitting the ball as far as I could. I knew it was segregated times, but I had never seen anything like that in athletics. I was embarrassed. It was tough. "Larry Doby on joining the Indians. Bill White later noted, when Larry Doby arrived, he had to go to the Chicago clubhouse to get a first baseman’s glove since none of his Cleveland teammates offered him one. 1947. 1st Black player in the American League. 1st Black player to hit a home run in World Series. 1st Black player to hit a home run in an All-Star game. 1st Black player in the American Basketball League (preceded NBA). 1st Black player to go directly to the majors from the Negro leagues. 1st Black player to lead either league in home runs. Major League Baseball needs to declare July 5th, "Larry Doby Day".

Yes, very good explanation of what has happened
Stacey Abrams breaks down Donald Trump’s calculated march toward authoritarian rule. She connects the dots with surgical precision: discredit the media, undermine the courts, politicize law enforcement, and attack elections. It’s a playbook. #America250Year #AmericaNow #America

These scenes keep getting repeated every day in our country. I can't wait until a new administration gets in. and ends this nonense and puts the brakes on these illegal ICE actions. Until this administration & all the poorly trained agents they rushed on the streets , with orders to terrorize every hispanic they see we did not have this kind of daily terror in the streets led by masked, politicized & poorly trained agents. This Nun going to church was a somehow a risk to our country?
Sister Leticia Ugboaja was walking to Sunday Mass when ICE arrested her in the street. A woman of faith simply trying to get to church. How did we get here? When a nun cannot walk to worship without fear of being detained in this country, we have to stop and ask what values are we standing on.

Good for her
Before a July 4th performance of "Party in the USA" Miley Cyrus stood up for equality, healthcare, and more. "It's not a party in the USA if we don't have equality, unity, justice, compassion, kindness, opportunity, health care, education, non-violence. So f--k yeah, it will be a party in the USA, we'll see it, and if we all fu--ing come together, we'll fu--ing make sure that it is."

Sabalenka is an amazing player as these numbers indicate. Even though I'm an Osaka fan, I love watching Sabalenka play and like all fans have huge respect for her game.
Naomi Osaka ends Aryna Sabalenka’s streaks of: - 14 consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinals - 21 consecutive Grand Slam tiebreaks won - 121 consecutive Grand Slam matches without losing in straight sets She’s that girl. She’s always been that girl. 💅

I am rooting for an Osaka-Goff finals at Wimbledon. They are my two favorite players. But, of course, I won't know who to root for if it happens. I guess I'll just root for them both to play well. we'll see if they both make it.

It is only July 5, a lot of the baseball season to go. BUT, that fact that the @whitesox are in first place in their division is amazing given how things have gone for then in the last several years. I grew up on the south side of Chicago & went to many Sox games, but strangely became a Cubs fan, however I always liked the Sox & wanted them to win. So, I am very happy they are back to playing good baseball.

They were so right to keep this in the film. What a charming performance. Audrey Hepburn was a treasure.
Audrey Hepburn singing Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) signature song, “Moon River”, written by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer. “Moon River” was tailored to Hepburn's vocal range and its sequencing was inspired by songs she performed in Funny Face (1957). After the film's test preview in San Francisco, Martin Rankin, Paramount's head of production, wanted “Moon River” replaced with music sung by somebody else. Producer Richard Shepherd claimed he and fellow producer Martin Jurow refused to replace it ― a response attributed to Hepburn herself in another account. At the 1962 Academy Awards, Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer won Oscars for Best Original Song for “Moon River”, while Mancini picked up a second Oscar for Best Original Score. The “Breakfast at Tiffany's: Music from the Motion Picture” soundtrack stayed on Billboard's album charts for over ninety weeks. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) became one of the defining films of the 1960s, especially for its fashion, mood, and portrayal of urban loneliness beneath romance and glamour.

Alleged law enforcement officials who are really Masked thugs terrorizing Americans--that is what we have going on today in our country.
ICE detain single mother during traffic stop—separate her from 2 year old daughter left behind in back seat. Last words to daughter: "OK, baby, my love, don’t be scared." "Sit down my love, mommy is going to go with them." She is well known community volunteer—targeted by ICE for organizing food drives in support of families during immigration raids. "They were already waiting for me when I left home," she tells friend over the phone. Her teenage son was driving, but only had an Illinois Instruction Permit to drive with an adult. Agents gave her one call before being taken to detention center. Karina Brucio's only option was to call her best friend to hopefully come and take care of her children. Incident occurred in the Blue Island suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The damily doesn't have an account on this platform—so posting first full length and credited video here to help raise awareness.

The entire @MLB American League should be celebrating Larry Doby annually on July 5 and retire his no. 14. @CleGuardians
Today is July 5th. It should be a day of celebration across all of Major League Baseball as we join together to celebrate the historic, game-changing career of the first Black player in the American League, Larry Doby. Instead, most fans have never heard of him. Do better @MLB.
