The U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran are illegal. Iran's attacks in Gulf States are illegal. The U.K. defending Gulf States is legal, but allowing the U.S. to use its bases is illegal. In short, everyone is violating international law and should stop. My latest @just_security .

"Since May 2026, drone strikes and other attacks have reportedly resulted in more than 35 child casualties in the state, including at least 18 children killed and more than 17 injured. The affected children ranged in age from just two months to 17 years."
“For many children, there is no safe place left. They are being killed and injured in their homes, on the roads, in markets, and while attempting to access essential services such as education and healthcare,” said Sheldon Yett, our Representative   unicef.org/sudan/press-relea…

The Humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan visited El Obeid, North Kordofan, yesterday. The drone strikes are relentless, hitting civilian infrastructure, drastically impacting the availability of water & electricity. Civilians are not legitimate targets of war & must be protected.

These daily acts of sadism will not stop until Israel complies with its legal obligation to end its unlawful presence in the entire West Bank and East Jerusalem.
A Border Police officer threw a stun grenade into a Palestinian car while its occupants were trapped inside, in the Qalandiya refugee camp in East Jerusalem. The officer then walked away as if nothing had happened.

I am aware of the concerning reports about the treatment of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya who is still in Israeli detention. We have raised his case again today with the Israeli authorities. Britain’s commitment to the rule of law and a fair trial is resolute.

We sat down lately for an exclusive interview on "Diplomatic Avenue show" @AlArabiya with seasoned Dutch diplomat @SigridKaag, who currently serves in an advisory role on the Gaza Executive Council, having previously held leadership roles in the political and humanitarian sectors at the United Nations, as well as serving at one stage or another of her illustrious career, as Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister or Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Our discussion was candid, addressing what has —or has not— been achieved in Gaza, since hopes rose for ending the humanitarian suffering & were revived following the adoption of Resolution 2803 in November 2025, and the subsequent formation of the Board of Peace, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump. We also discussed the pressing issues in Iran, Syria, and Lebanon. Watch the full 27 minutes in English below.

CNN: Have you lived the American dream yourself? Mamdani: I think that I'm living one of them. And I think the beautiful thing about today is it's a chance to celebrate that the promise of our nation is still true. That promise of opportunity, of freedom, of self-determination, and to be the mayor of our city today, it's something more than I could ever ask for.

Netanyahu "claimed he is getting a lot of support from India on his Facebook page" [Meanwhile India's Congress Party leader recently wrote the op-ed below]
🇮🇱🇺🇸Netanyahu responded in an interview on Fox news today: 🚨He pushed back on VP Vance's claim that the U.S. is the last country that still supports Israel and claimed he is getting a lot of support from India on his Facebook page 🚨He claimed Trump and him see eye to eye 99% of the time but there are sometimes disagreements like in every relationship 🚨He didn't push back on Trump's remark that he knows who is the boss and said the U.S. "is the leader of the free world and Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East" 🚨He blamed the shift in perceptions of Israel among young Republicans to social media narratives that he claimed are being pushed by foreign countries

"His attorney ... observed fresh bruising across Dr. Abu Safiya’s body, including on his head and around his eyes, ears, and neck, injuries so severe that he could barely recognize him."
🚨 Urgent Update Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya to his attorney: “This is the last time you’ll see me… They brought me here to kill me.” Recent reports raise grave concerns about Dr. Abu Safiya and the other healthcare professionals from Gaza held in Israeli detention facilities. PHRI demands the immediate removal of Dr. Abu Safiya from the Rekafet underground security facility and an urgent assessment of his condition by an independent actor, before it is too late. Adv. Nasser Odeh, who visited Dr. Abu Safiya last Thursday, witnessed what he described as a life-threatening condition. Dr. Abu Safiya reported that, for the past two weeks, particularly since his transfer to Rakefet, he has endured daily violence and beatings. He also reported a sharp escalation in assaults against him since judicial proceedings concerning his release began last month. According to Dr. Abu Safiya, after a hearing in his appeal at the Israeli Supreme Court, four to five officers entered his cell and beat him across his body with a hammer and batons. He said that similar violence has since become a daily occurrence, causing him to lose consciousness several times over the previous week. His attorney reported that Dr. Abu Safiya arrived at their most recent meeting with both his hands and feet cuffed and accompanied by masked guards. He observed fresh bruising across Dr. Abu Safiya’s body, including on his head and around his eyes, ears, and neck, injuries so severe that he could barely recognize him. During the meeting, Dr. Abu Safiya had difficulty breathing and speaking, appeared extremely weak, and struggled to remain seated without falling. On several occasions, he leaned backward, raising fears that he was about to lose consciousness. According to his attorney, he appeared frightened and in severe distress and was afraid to speak freely for fear of further retaliation. Dr. Abu Safiya and at least 13 other Palestinian physicians from Gaza have been held in Israeli custody for more than 18 months without charge or trial. PHRI calls for their immediate release. Israel’s torture practices against Palestinians in its prisons have already caused at least 105 deaths since October 2023. We call for urgent intervention before it is too late.
