Finding the limits of Tesla Self-Driving
@DavidMoss and I spent the day together testing FSD in a bunch of different ways, and truthfully I was shocked with how the car handled some of the tests.
This video showcases some of the most impressive aspects of FSD, but it also brings up some flaws with FSD today - which I think is always worth talking about.
Go watch and let me know what your favorite test was that we did.
If there's anything you'd like to see tested in the future let me know! I am trying to get back into posting content more regularly again.

Cybercab Meets USA 250th Anniversary!🇺🇸
I just spotted this on the streets of Austin, TX with an incredible patriotic/Texas themed wrap.
Any guesses on what Tesla must have in store for this 4th of July Independence Day?
Yup. In this case, the driver manually overrode self-driving by pressing the accelerator all the way to 100% of the accel pedal in this residential area. They reached a speed of 73 mph during the crash, and had the accelerator pressed even after the crash.
vehicle logs will prove self-driving wasn’t turned on and it was drivers fault (like they always do)
yet this will be remembered as a self-driving crash by the majority of people
sad
A driver in a Tesla vehicle that was allegedly in self-driving mode crashed into a Texas house Friday night, killing a woman who was inside the home, investigators said. abcnews.link/qbwtFc0
imagine rooting against life-saving technology because you hate Elon
average driver in the Netherlands crashes every ~165k miles
24 million miles = ~145 expected crashes
“Supervised” or not, that’s remarkable
I basically read this as: “Tesla is close, so surely everyone else must be close too”
I’m sure they’ll hold RJ just as accountable as they hold Elon when that turns out not to be true
I like what Rivian’s @RJScaringe said to Wired. It’s clear (to me) that autonomy won’t likely be a competitive moat for very long. It may be very lucrative in the short term, but eventually it’ll just be expected. And also it’s foolish to presume only one company will “crack it.”
the biggest thing holding back FSD 14.3.4 is the start and end of drives
fix those, and I honestly think it’d be ready to go unsupervised in many parts of the country
