🆘🆘 LEIA (ID 253126), 2 YO, FEMALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - impound on 4/27/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 7/4/26
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️🆘🆘 6th Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY RARE – SHELTER AT CAPACITY - COULD BE LAST CALL FOR LEIA - VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 66 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ LEIA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. Although she is friendly and social, she is prone to overstimulation, quickly escalating to hissing and swatting during interactions. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Leia tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. A volunteer writes: Leia is a sweet, beautiful girl, only about 3 years old. She is friendly and playful but from my interaction would do best with someone who really "gets" cats and can read their body language. Leia enjoys meeting new people however I could tell that she may get a bit overstimulated at times, although my interaction with her was very positive. I can't blame her for wanting someone who understands her, don't we all? ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP –
Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one.
