Could be the reason. I'm just saying what I saw on the Xtra Factor episodes and the BTS stuff from TXF era. It was pretty obvious poor Liam was expected to carry the group but treated like he was boring.

I think he was not made the frontman because the producers obviously wanted a manufactured group in TXF and if he was pushed as the best, it would have been even less belivable that he was not good enough alone in the Boy category. He had to be labelled boring as a solo act.
