The horse that beat him last out, Strategic Profile, won again in next start as did the 6th place finisher. Has a maintenance work and is the fastest in here so will go with him again. DCI LAUNCHES SPECIALISED BOMB TECHNICIAN TRAINING COURSE The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has today launched the Explosive Incident Countermeasures Course at the Border Police College, Kanyonyo, marking another significant milestone in strengthening Kenya’s preparedness and response to explosive-related threats. In his address delivered by the Director Personnel at DCI, Ms. Rosemary Kuraru, the Director DCI, Mr. Mohamed Amin, expressed appreciation to the Government of the United States of America, through the Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA) Programme, for sponsoring the training and reaffirmed the value of the enduring partnership in enhancing Kenya’s specialised counter-terrorism and explosives response capabilities. He noted that the evolving global threat posed by explosive devices demands sustained investment in specialised training, operational preparedness and professional excellence, emphasising that the course reflects the DCI’s unwavering commitment to equipping its officers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively counter emerging security threats. The seven-week intensive programme has brought together officers from the Bomb Disposal Unit and the Administration Police Special Operations Group (SOG). Throughout the course, participants will undergo comprehensive training covering fundamentals of explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), military ordnance, render-safe procedures, transportation and storage of explosives, as well as other critical operational competencies. Upon successful completion, they will qualify as Basic Bomb Technicians. Reaffirming the DCI’s commitment to continuous professional development and strategic partnerships, Ms. Kuraru challenged the participants to embrace the training with discipline, humility and determination, reminding them that the expertise they acquire could one day save innocent lives, protect fellow officers and safeguard the nation from devastating attacks. She also commended the leadership and staff of the Border Police College, together with the ATA Programme facilitators, for their dedication to developing highly skilled personnel capable of responding to increasingly complex security threats.
