From the Sea to Karbala! 🤍
Every year, before the days of Arbaeen, thousands of lovers of Imam Hussain (AS) gather at Ras al-Bisha in Basra the southernmost point of Iraq, where the sea meets the land. From there begins one of the world’s longest pilgrimages on foot: nearly 700 km to Karbala. For 17–20 days, they walk through scorching heat, exhaustion, and countless hardships with only one destination in their hearts: “Labbaik Ya Hussain.” Along the way, the people of Iraq welcome them with unmatched generosity. Every few steps, mawakib offer free food, water, shelter, medical care, and endless hospitality—all in the name of Imam Hussain (AS).
