Very happy to be in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, for the 57th Annual Convention of the Odisha Society of the Americas, to attend its opening ceremony as Chief Guest and receive this honour from the OSA family. Founded in 1969, OSA has been bringing Odias across the United States and Canada together for more than five decades. I was very happy to meet so many Odias here. Though they are living far away from Odisha, their love for our language, culture and traditions remains the same. On this occasion, OSA and KIIT–KIMS also announced their shared intention to build a long-term strategic partnership in education, healthcare, innovation, culture, youth empowerment and community service. I hope this association will create meaningful opportunities and further strengthen the bond between Odisha and the global Odia community. I left when I turned 18. I moved out of the metro. In 1995, I moved back into South Minneapolis just off 42nd and Hiawatha (instead of 36th and Chicago)to give it one more chance and left again. I haven't looked back.

I don’t think this implies that there are “no problems”. This is just saying that Minneapolis is not terrifying. It’s pushing back on the people that never visit because they think it’s not safe. That’s different than saying this “city is perfect”.
